FEI World Equestrian Games: Successful floodlight test
The presales are booming in anticipation of the exciting competitions
Everyone wants to be present at these World Championships, the enthusiasm
in the run up to the FEI World Equestrian Games Aachen 2006 is overwhelming.
Thousands of people recently rushed to watch the preliminary canter
at the Brandenburg Gate and thousands of people followed the German
team's training session under floodlight on Tuesday evening in Riesenbeck.
"This enthusiasm is also noticeable from the ticket sales,"
says Michael Mronz, member and spokesman of the WEG OC.
The good news: Tickets are still available for all disciplines.
They can be ordered from the hotline on +49-(0)241-917-1111, all
information concerning tickets is available online at www.aachen2006.de.
There are also still a few tickets for the Mercedes-Benz Nations'
Cup, the team show-jumping on Thursday evening, August 31st. It
was possible to gain a good idea of how impressive the world's most
famous show ring is going to be under floodlight yesterday evening.
After dusk the four 45 metre high masts brightly illuminated the
stadium that holds 40,000 spectators - the new floodlights certainly
passed the test. A few tickets are left for the dressage freestyle
on Saturday evening too, (August 26th), the second competition to
be staged under floodlight.
And when the German eventing stars - including of course Bettina
Hoy - give their sporting reply to the disputes at the Olympic Games
in Athens, the spectators still have the chance to be present every
single day. Details on which tickets are still up for purchase can
be called up under the daily updated "Tickets" rubric
of the website www.aachen2006.de.
Over 420,000 tickets have already been sold, approximately 500,000
spectators are expected in Aachen. Around one third of them will
be travelling to Germany from abroad for the WEG.
