Aachen, August 30th, 2006

Holstein Breeding Association Press Release:
Holstein foal for the World Champion 2006
Championesse to be presented on Thursday evening
Before the Nations' Cup begins on Thursday, August 31st, a foal
will enter the show-ring of the Aachen Soers and present itself
to the spectators, because the Holstein Breeding Association will
be upholding a nice tradition:
The Show-jumping World Champion 2006 will not only be rewarded with
honour and fame, but also with a Holstein foal.
A wonderful filly of the best breeding will be handed over to the
new titleholder on Sunday after the final of the best four riders.
Descending from Calato-Lavaletto-Quidam de Revel, Championesse,
as the foal is referred to, was bred by Manfred von Allwährden,
Seedorf and stems from the very best Holstein bloodlines.
Cöster, who was European Champion together with his rider Christian
Ahlmann three years ago in Donaueschingen and who is representing
Germany at these World Championships, is just one example of the
many successful sports horses produced by Calato. Lavaletto by Landgraf
I, the grand-sire on the dam's side, is currently successful in
Class S jumping competitions. Championesse's grand-dam, who descends
from Quidam de Revel, is the full sister of Quo Vadis, who was an
elite PSI Auction horse and has in the meantime claimed victories
and top placements in international Grand Prix sport under his rider,
Peter Wylde/USA, the bronze medallist of the World Equestrian Games
in Jerez in 2002.
The European Champions Ludger Beerbaum (2001) and Christain Ahlmann
(2003) already had the pleasure of being awarded with Holstein foals.
Whereas Ludger Beerbaum's Cassina by Cassini I-Cor de la Bryére
(Hang-Jürgen Bruhn, Immenstedt) has already demonstrated her
talent in international show-jumping sport, the Clearway-Concerto
II mare bred by Klaus Hagge, Schülp, is still enjoying the
lush green pastures at Ahlmann's stables in Westphalia.
