FEI World Equestrian Games Aachen: WDR 2 broadcasts "soundtrack"
for the closing firework display
Music collage on Sunday at 11.15 p.m.
Colourful fans, spheres and stars will light up the sky in Aachen
on Sunday, September 3rd, at 11.15 p.m.: At the big firework display
during the closing ceremony of FEI World Equestrian Games Aachen
2006. And WDR 2 will accompany the event on the radio with a music
collage of rock and pop songs. The people in Aachen will be able
to listen to the "Pyro show music" on analogue radio at
100.80 MHz. "The sound collage will be cut and coordinated
to match the choreography of the firework display," explains
Angelica Netz, Programme Director of WDR 2. To make sure that the
computer-controlled effects are perfectly synchronised with the
music, WDR 2 will be on site with a broadcasting van, which will
be used to harmonise the sound with the firework show. Calmer passages
of music will be accentuated with new effects, which for example
will fall from the sky like flashing waterfalls as if in slow motion.
WDR 2 was already present at the Katschhof in front of Aachen's
cathedral for the horse party - a stage show comprising of musical
and comedy acts - which celebrated the opening of the FEI World
Equestrian Games Aachen 2006. WDR 2 is reporting on the sporting
highlights of the tournament throughout the entire duration of the
World Championships.
